Herkese mutlu Pazarlar...
Today was a good day for me. The elegant owner of the blog "Zeynepin evi" arranged a meeting for the bloggers of Ankara to meet each other and when DODO the owner of "a houseful of happiness" informed me about this all I needed to do was just to go there. I thank both of them. I'm very new in this, my blog hasn't completed 6 months so I didn't know any of the blog owners in person, I actually even didn't know most of the blogs. Thank her, Zeynep had a list of all the attendees and she gave the list to each one of us. There were around 40 attendees so I couldn't look at all of them but of course eventually I will.
I'm bad at taking pictures so I have only 3 shots, I hope the other friends will give support over time... Happy Sunday to all...

Bir öykü-Alışveriş-Sürpriz, _A story, Shopping, and a surprise

My blog post will be a bit of a mixture today. First of all I want to start with a small story. My parents had met a family after they bought their summer house. Of course we also met my parents new friends. Years ago they had come to this small town of Marmaris only for a holiday, and falled in love with this place. They said that they had moved here in order to start a new life by ending their life in the UK. They were happy, they bought their house. When I first met Pat, I was surprised and said "what do you do here all year? Aren't you bored?"She said "we're very happy here... we hike in the mountains in winter...this place is very nice"... she also said, "I have a small health issue, we need to go back to the U.K. in short time, we will see a doctor and then we will come back home"... Our holiday ended, we returned back to Ankara. My parents were informing us, they diagnosed cancer in Pat whilst stating her remianing life... they accepted treatment in order to have some more time, for a short period she even managed to come "home" with the condition that she would return back. Then we learned.... she died...
For years I saw shops called "Hospice" in the U.K. From the appeareance I was thinking that it was a second hand shop chain. I learned this week... these were organizations who were giving care to terminally ill patients. The ill person would either stay there or thay would give support to the person and the family if they prefer to be at home (medical and psychological)... Doug and Pat decided that Pat should be at home in her last days. Doug is saying that we couldn't have made it without their support. The government aid for this organization was very low (%15) and they would generate money from charity, second hand sales etc. Doug has made a promise of rowing 42.195 meters for earning charity for this organization that took care of Pat and himself in this period. People give money for his promise and this money goes directly to the hospice that took care of Pat and Doug.
To have an organization like this is incredible. Wouldn't it be nice to have this kind of an organization in our country also? (with them being really effective). How human is this? If you like to look at Doug's charity page its below:

Yine her şey güzeldi....
Today me, my dad and Doug were in Çıkrıkçılar. We first had lunch together in Kirit Cafe a place that I love... Again, everything was good...

Today me, my dad and Doug were in Çıkrıkçılar. We first had lunch together in Kirit Cafe a place that I love... Again, everything was good...
Kirit Cafe
Başlangıç olarak zeytinyağ ve baharat - Olive oil and spices for starters
![]() |
Kafenin içi - Inside the cafe
Bu ne sevimli hayvanlar - How cute are these animals
Sonra yollarımızı ayırdık. Onlar "Anadolu medeniyetleri müzesine gitti, ben ise sokaklara...
Then we departed. They went to "The museum of Anatolian civilizations" I was on the streets...
Bu minicik kumaşçı dükkanını pek sevdim. Bütün kumaşlar üstüste yığılmış... Uzunöz manifatura, Koyunpazarı yokuşu.
I loved this tiny fabric shop. All fabric is stacked on top of each other...
Shop owner Ahmet... While I was thinking how much trouble I will cause if I want to see a fabric that is underneath a big pile, he told me this; his father always told him " Son, you have only one shop, but the customers have many, don' ever forget this", he really hasn't
"Zilli" in Pirinç Han. I thought it had recently opened but it turned out that it was a shop in the inn and had opened a branch in the atrium of the same in, they have different and interesting products.
Then I went down the hill visiting all the shops. Of course as I bought fabric from every shop that I entered, my photography shooting ended because of the weight I had to carry
Ve günün sürprizi, kocam gelmiş benden habersiz evde koltukta uyukluyor yorgun
And the surprise of the day, my husband has returned without me knowing, he is having a nap on the sofa.
