Çiçek ve kuş aplikeli çanta - Bag with a flower and bird applique

Tam yaz geldi derken şu havanın yaptığına bakın, içim karardı. Mayıs ayında üşür mü insan? Ben donuyorum...

Just as we were saying summer has come, look at the weather, I feel gloomy inside. Can a person feel cold in May? I'm freezing... They say it's going to be like this for a couple of days...
I started this bag yesterday. It was supposed to be a plain bag but my idea came and I inserted a big zippered section inside... then I realized the front of the bag looks empty, the flower and the bird were added. (front pockets were present in the orijinal plan). Of course as I continiuosly added something to the bag, the finalization of the bag was delayed a lot.

İpad çantası 4 - İpad case 4

Dün başladım, bugün bitirdim. Fazla söze gerek yok...

I started yesterday, finished today. No need for a lot to say...

I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride my bike
I want to ride my bicycle
I want to ride it where I like

Özetle der ki; bisikletimi sürmek istiyorum, dilediğim yere gitmek istiyorum...

This is a summary translation of the song....

Although the photos are rather bad because I took them at night here are two clocks made with decoupage technique. I made one of them, the other was made by Nilgün...

Boş iplik makaraları ile ne yapılır 1? - What can be made with empty thread spools 1?

I have a glass vase in my workshop. I throw my residue felt, empty thread spools, leftover laces, everything that can be classified as trash in short, because I may use them one day. Yesterday night the empty spools in this vase stuck my mind, I thought "what can I make with them?" till morning but no idea came up. Just when I gave up there was a light and this came out of it...

Buy the way in my subject I sound like I have the 2nd or 3rd empty spool idea. Of course I don't have any 2nd idea but I think I will come out with something when my vase is full of spools.

Earlier I had seen something on how to make hair for Tilda dolls. When I made the hair of this doll with what I remember of that this doll looked like a Tilda doll. I want to call it as "Spool gypsy Tilda"

Because I couldn't decide how I should make her mouth, she doesn't have a mouth yet...

Kocaman halka küpelerini görünüz mü?
Did you see her hoop earrings?

Domates fidelerim ile bir pozu...
A pose with my tomato seedlings...

Ve bahsi geçen artık malzeme vazom...
And my residual material vaze that I mentioned...

Nasıl yaptığımı görmek isterseniz BURADA paylaştım...
If you want to see how I did it I shared it HERE...

Yaz çantası - Summer bag

Normalde yaptığım tüm çalışmalarda bir projeyle başlarım. Proje ilerledikçe aklıma birşey gelir, projem değişir, biraz daha ilerler başka bir şey aklıma gelir yapacağım şey yine değişir. Dolayısıyla yaptığım şey her neyse sonucu bana büyük sürpriz olur.

Normally  I start with a project in every work that I do. As the project progresses something comes to my mind and my project changes, it progresses a bit more something else crosses my ming it changes again. So whatever I do the outcome is a big surprise for me. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing (not being able to plan, not being able to achieve the planned goal etc.) but it's good for me, that's for sure. It's like "make your own surprise". I have no idea of the outcome till the last moment and surrrppriisseee. I love surprises. My brother has a daughter. They live in the U.K and come to my families summer house in their summer holiday. Years ago she was abot 3-4 years old. One day I had to go to Marmaris. I asked her "I want to buy something for you from Marmaris, what would you want?". She said "surprise me". I'de always thought that she was like me (not in appearance), this claim of her confirmed my thought.
This bag started life as the inside of another bag. After 10-15 changes it came out like this. Of course it took me nearly a week to finish it because of  this.

After many days I didn't go out today. I had so many things to complete, I thought I will do them. Well actually although I didn't complete them all, I felt well because I did something that I wanted to do but was not in my schedule for today. The corner cubboard in the picture had so many things stuffed inside... sanding machine, paint, aiding material and other bits and pieces... I emptied it all, I sorted out everything that was out of use... This was a core that I was ignoring for weeks...I had already painted the outside of this cubboard while I was waiting for my coffee tables paint coats to dry...

I had made a curtain out of my famous İkea fabric... I'd bought a curtain pole from İkea... I assembled that... My tiles have many stains on them because of the facade insulation work from this winter... I was saying next summer, but now I don''t want to go through all that trouble... But how can one live with these stained tiles? I wasn't aware of this fact untill I made this arrangement... Just as I thought everything was to my taste this stood out a lot. And as if all of this is not enough I saw the the tile of my life... like gold... at least the price of it is so...

Bankıma da yaptım bir minder. Dün almıştım süngerlerini...
I made a mattress for my bench. I'de bought the foam yesterday...

Anddd the two of them together... it looks nice... the pattern of this fabric makes me very happyyy...

Bir öykü-Alışveriş-Sürpriz, _A story, Shopping, and a surprise

My blog post will be a bit of a mixture today. First of all I want to start with a small story. My parents had met a family after they bought their summer house. Of course we also met my parents new friends. Years ago they had come to this small town of Marmaris only for a holiday, and falled in love with this place. They said that they had moved here in order to start a new life by ending their life in the UK.  They were happy, they bought their house. When I first met Pat, I was surprised and said "what do you do here all year? Aren't you bored?"She said "we're very happy here... we hike in the mountains in winter...this place is very nice"... she also said, "I have a small health issue, we need to go back to the U.K. in short time, we will see a doctor and then we will come back home"... Our holiday ended, we returned back to Ankara. My parents were informing us, they diagnosed cancer in Pat whilst stating her remianing life... they accepted treatment in order to have some more time, for a short period she even managed to come "home" with the condition that she would return back. Then we learned.... she died...
For years I saw shops called "Hospice" in the U.K. From the appeareance I was thinking that it was a second hand shop chain. I learned this week... these were organizations who were giving care to terminally ill patients. The ill person would either stay there or thay would give support to the person and the family if they prefer to be at home (medical and psychological)...  Doug and Pat decided that Pat should be at home in her last days. Doug is saying that we couldn't have made it without their support. The government aid for this organization was very low (%15) and they would generate money from charity, second hand sales etc. Doug has made a promise of rowing 42.195 meters for earning charity for this organization that took care of Pat and himself in this period. People give money for his promise and this money goes directly to the hospice that took care of Pat and Doug.
To have an organization like this is incredible. Wouldn't it be nice to have this kind of an organization in our country also? (with them being really effective). How human is this? If you like to look at Doug's charity page its below:

http://www.justgiving.com/remember/3729/Pat-Trumper

Yine her şey güzeldi....

Today me, my dad and Doug were in Çıkrıkçılar. We first had lunch together in Kirit Cafe a place that I love...  Again, everything was good...

Kirit Cafe

Başlangıç olarak zeytinyağ ve baharat - Olive oil and spices for starters

Kafenin içi  - Inside the cafe

Bu ne sevimli hayvanlar - How cute are these animals

Sonra yollarımızı ayırdık. Onlar "Anadolu medeniyetleri müzesine gitti, ben ise sokaklara...

Then we departed. They went to "The museum of Anatolian civilizations" I was on the streets...

Bu minicik kumaşçı dükkanını pek sevdim. Bütün kumaşlar üstüste yığılmış... Uzunöz manifatura, Koyunpazarı yokuşu.
I loved this tiny fabric shop. All fabric is stacked on top of each other...

Shop owner Ahmet... While I was thinking how much trouble I will cause if I want to see a fabric that is underneath a big pile, he told me this; his father always told him " Son, you have only one shop, but the customers have many, don' ever forget this", he really hasn't

"Zilli" in Pirinç Han. I thought it had recently opened but it turned out that it was a shop in the inn and had opened a branch in the atrium of the same in, they have different and interesting products.

Then I went down the hill visiting all the shops. Of course as I bought fabric from every shop that I entered, my photography shooting ended because of the weight I had to carry

Ve günün sürprizi, kocam gelmiş benden habersiz evde koltukta uyukluyor yorgun
And the surprise of the day, my husband has returned without me knowing, he is having a nap on the sofa.

Gün, anılar ve duvar kağıdı uygulaması - The day, memories and wall paper application

Today my mum and dad had a few things to sort out before moving to their summer house. We went to TunalıHilmi street. And while we were there we had lunch with our guest in Hacı Arif Bey, restaurant. One of the waiters took the name of our guest from me and made a small gesture.  By the way I spelt his name wrong...

By chance for a bussiness reason my uncle who's living in İstanbul was in Ankara for the day, he also joined us...

Babam, dayım, annem - My dad, my uncle, my mum
Aklıma geldi, Doug'a şu hikayeyi anlattım dayımla ilgili.

It came to my mind, I told Doug this story about my uncle. When I was in middle school this uncle of mine (I have another uncle and they are twins) used to come to Ankara for bussiness every Wednesday and we used to go to a kebap restaurant that was near my school in my lunch break. I was looking forward for Wednesday to come so that my uncle would come, we would have lunch together, have a chat... Doug said "Are you aware that today is Wednesday, your uncle is here again for bussiness and you're in a kebap restaurant?" No, I wasn't aware at all, I liked it repeating after all those years...

After lunch I went back home, just at that moment my neighbour Nilgün calls, the girls are together in her house, applying wall paper to her walls. I grabbed my photography machine and went directly there. I've done loads of things but I never did any wall papering and I have no idea on how to do it... I learned and took pictures of it for myself and so that I can share with you here.

Nilgün-Hüsniye-Nurhan-Nur

Arı gibi çalışıp, kıkırdayarak kağıtları kapladılar. Resminizi çekeyim dediğimde o yorgunluklarına rağmen poz vermeyi de ihmal etmediler. Hatta ismi lazım değil, ben bunu söyler söylemez koşarak çantasına gidip, aceleyle rujunu süren bile vardı. Kadın milleti, fotoğraf deyince yorgunluğunu unutur, rujunu sürer, pozunu verir, işine devam eder...

They worked like a bee, giggled a lot and covered the walls. When I said I will take there pictures they didn't miss posing. And as soon as I said this, I'm not going to name her but one of them even ran directly to her bag and put on her lipstick. Womenkind, when somebody says photo we forget our tiredness, put on our lipstick, pose to the camera, continiue on with our work...

Evening has come, cookies, cakes, tea comes out. It's departing time, but departing is difficult... Hüsniye's husband has come to pick her up... after he is forced to drink 3-5 glasses of tea in order to have some more  time together... "come on my dear, come on sweetheart, let's gooo homeee"

1=2 çantası - 1=2 bag

My mum and dad are going to go to their summer house this weekend. But I don't want them to drive all the way to Marmaris. They don't want to go without their car as they need it for shopping and like. They have an English friend who has moved to Marmaris and who is their neighbour & friend. He came all the way to Ankara to drive them up to Marmaris. I can not describe how valuable this is for me. Although it is nothing near to that value I feel very happy in taking him to places in Ankara that I find interesting for him. Today all four of us went to Gölbaşı in order to eat something and have a stroll around. The weather was beautifull, I'm happy that summer is here.

Bu benim 1=2 çanta denemem, eminim anladınız nedenini....

This is my 1=2 bag trial. I'm sure you understood why....

Kırmızı melekli çanta - Red bag with angel

Bütün gün bir koşuşturma hali içerisindeydim. Oğlumu derse bıraktım, alışveriş yaptım, arkadaşım geldi bahçede çay içtim, misafirliğe gittim (misafirlik sayılmaz aslında, yan komşumun misafirleri vardı onlarla oturdum ama misafirliğe gittim diyince koşuşturma konseptine daha çok uyuyor), çevirimi bitirdim (Türkçeden İngilizceye çevirdim bu kez :)), babamların bir arkadaşını otobüs terminalinden aldım, oğlumu sinemadan aldım, akşam yemeğe gittim... bu arada da bu çantanın son işlerini bitirip fotoğraflarını çekmeyi başardım (beraberinde dün paylaştığım çantanın fotoğraflarını yeniden çekerek blogdaki resimlerini yeniledim...Bayağı bir koşuşturma değilmi bir gün için?

Today I was in a state of running around. I drove my son for a lesson, did some shopping, my friend came I drank tea with her in garden, I visited a friend (actually it was my neighbour who had some guests and I went to be with them, but saying I visited a friend is more appropriate for my running around concept), I finished my translation (This time I did it from Turkish to English :)), I collected my dads friend from the bus terminal, collected my son from the movies, went outside for a dinner...meanwhile I managed to finish the remaining work for this bag and took its photo's (I took pictures of the bag that I shared yesterday and renewed its blog pictures)... It's a run around for one day isn't it?
