Turunç tatili - Turunç vacation

Bu yukarıda gördükleriniz Haziran ayında Olgunlaşma enstitüsünde düzenlenen mine sergimizde benim sergiye kattığım ürünlerden ikisi. Bugün paylaşmak istediğim konu ile alakalı olduğu için açılışı onlarla yaptım. Konumuz ise tekneli, balıklı bir yer.... Turunç-Marmaris...

The pictures above are two of the products that I included in the Enamel exhibition that was organized by the Olgunlaşma institude in June. As they are related to the subject I want to share today, I made my opening with them. Our subject is a place with sail boats and fish.... Turunç- Marmaris...

Turunç Marmaris'e hem yakın, hem uzak bir yer. Sessiz, sakin bir tatil yapmak, kafa dinlemek için ideal. Marmaris'e arabayla yarım saat mesafede ama bu gidişte aşılması gereken oldukça dik uçurumları olan bir dağ var. Arabanız yok ise veya kullanmak istemezseniz dolmuş var 50 dakika civarında süren, ya da bir başka seçenek olarak ta İçmeler'e uğrayıp uğramamasına bağlı olarak 50 dakika veya 1 saat süren deniz dolmuşları var. Gece saat 11-12'ye kadar bu dolmuşlar çalışıyor ama eğer Marmaris'in barlar sokağına giderek gecelere akmak istiyorsanız oradan buraya dolmuşla gelmek mümkün değil, sabahı bekleyeceksiniz. Saat 8 de kara dolmuşu seferi, deniz yolu seferi ise saat 11'de başlıyor. Taksi ise bir rivayete göre 80 lira tutuyor. Marmaris'e bu kadar yakın olup ta oradaki eğlenceye dahil olmak biraz zor dolayısıyla.

Turunç is a place that is both near to and at the same time far away from Marmaris. It's an ideal place for a quiet and peaceful holiday. It's half an hour away from Marmaris with a private car but there is a winding mountain that you have to pass over. If you don't have a car or if you don't prefer to use it, their is the land "dolmuş" that takes about 50 minutes or your other choise is the sea "dolmuş" that takes 50 minutes or an hour depending if it stops at İçmeler on the way. Both "dolmuş"s work till 11-12 at night but if you want to go to the bar street in Marmaris and flow into the nights it's not possible to return back here with the "dolmuş", you have to wait till morning. The land "dolmuş" starts to operate at 8 am, the sea "dolmuş at 11 am. They say that the taxi costs 80 lira. So although it's very close,  it still is difficult to involve in the night time entertainment that takes place in Marmaris.

 Turunç'ta gündüz denize girmek, güneşlenmek, dükkan gezmek haricinde Amos ve Kumlubük adındaki yakın koylara hem dolmuş, hemde deniz dolmuşu ile gitmek mümkün. Akşam ise genellikle birkaç lokanta ve bar bulunmakla beraber saat 12 sularında herkes dağılıyor ve Turunç boşalıyor. Oğlum mesela sıkılıyor burada, arkadaşı da olmayınca.

Besides swimming, sun bathing, shopping at daytime in Turunç it's possible to go to near bays such as Amos and Kumlubük via land or sea "dolmuş". In the evenings there are a number of restaurants and bars but everybody leaves these places at around 12 pm and Turunç turns out to be an empty place. For  example my son gets very bored here if he doesn't have a friend around.  

Genellikle burada sitelerdeki evlerin sahipleri orta yaş üstü İngilizler ve daha az sayıdaki Türkler, ki bu İngilizlerin çoğu yazın evlerini kiraya veriyorlar ve kışın yada baharda burada olmayı tercih ediyorlar. Dolayısıyla arkadaşlık edilebilecek sabit bir kitle'de bulmak biraz zor özellikle gençler için.

Usually the owners of the houses here are over middle aged mostly British and some Turkish people.The British people prefer to come here in the spring, autum or winter season and they usually rent their houses in the summer time. So it's hard to find permanent people to form some friendship, especially for young people.

Ulaşım olarak benim buradaki tercihim her zaman deniz yolu oluyor, o yolculuk bana çok keyifli geliyor. Bazen bu yolculuklarda bir tekne sahibi ile tanışıp sohbet ediyorum. 20 civarında Turunç teknesi var kurdukları tekne kooperatifinde çalışan, hep yeterince para kazanamamaktan söz ediyorlar. Benim de ödüm kopuyor bitirirlerse bu işi diye. Kara dolmuşu biraz daha hesaplı olmasına rağmen dalgaların üzerinde hoplayarak, tenimde rüzgarı hissederek gitmek varken bu sıcakta kan ter içinde kara dolmuşu ile o yolları katetmek bana çok eziyetli geliyor. (Kara dolmuşu 6, deniz ise gidiş dönüş alırsan biletini 7,5 lira).

My first choise of transportation is always the sea way, the cruise makes me happy. In some of the trips I make I have a chat wit the boat owner. There are about 20 boats that are working for the cooperation that they've founded and they all talk about not being able to earn enough money. I always fear that they will end this. Although the land "dolmuş" is a bit cheaper I find it annoying to go all the way, sweatting in this heat whereas I have the chance of bouncing on the waves feelling the wind on my skin. (land "dolmuş" is 6 lira, sea is 7,5 lira if you buy a return ticket)

Anlayacağınız üzere ben Turunç'tayım bir süredir. Biraz sıkılmadım desem yalan olur ama Cumartesi kardeşim ve ailesi İngiltere'den gelecekler, heyecanla gelişlerini bekliyorum.

As you can understand I've been in Turunç for a while. If I say that I'm not bored at all  it will be a lie but my brother and his family are going to come from the UK on Saturday, I'm looking forward for their arrival.

Bayılıyorum şu Begonvillere. Burada, her yerden fışkırıyor benim Ankara'ya taşıdığım Begonvilimde 2 tane minik çiçek açtı diye yaşadığım sevinci gölgelercesine...

I love these Bougainvilleas. They sprout out from everywhere here as if they want to put a shadow on my joy because my Bougainville that I carried all the way to Ankara bloomed 2 tiny flowers.

Tığ figürler - Crochet figures

Oğlumun okulla ilgili tüm karmaşası bitince ben acaba ne yapsam diye döndüm durdum evin içinde. Atölye ye indim, canım istemedi yeni bir şeye başlamayı, daha doğrusu uzundur çanta yada el işlerimle ilgili herhangi bir şey düşünmeye fırsatım olmadığı için bir hayalim yoktu uygulamaya koyabileceğim. En sonunda çantalarımdan birinin eki olması üzere başladığım tığ işi figürüme biraz devam ettim. Biraz devam edebildim çünkü eşim arayarak hadi 2-3 günlüğüne Marmaris'e gidelim ben işten çıktım seni almaya geliyorum istersen önerisinde bulundu. Bu öneriyi pek sevdim ve hemen ayaklanarak küçük bir çanta hazırladım. Saat 19:30 da yolu çıktık, annemlerin yazlığına vardığımızda saat sabahın dördü olmuştu.
Yazlığa geliyor olmanın huzuruyla bilgisayarımı da almıştım yanıma. Evde de internet var... Çanta larımın birinin parçası olmasını planladığım tığ figürlerimi paylaşmam konusunda bir engelim yok anlayacağınız...


After the rushing around caused by my son's school stuff ended I wondered around in the house trying to figure out what to do. I went down to my workshop but I didn't want to start something new or I should say I didn't have any fantasy that I would want to realize as I hadn't had any time in the past few days to think about a bag or any kind of craft. In the end I continiued my crochet figure that I had started earlier with the intention of it being a part of one of my bags. I could only continiue with it for a short time as my husband called and suggested us to go to Marmaris for 2-3 day's and said that he was on his way from work to take me if I wanted to. I loved the suggestion and immediately prepared a small bag for us. We headed out at 19:30 and it was four in the morning when we arrived at my mum and dad's holiday house.
I had taken my laptop with me as we were comming to the summer house. We have an internet connection in the house... so I have no excuse for not sharing these crochet figures that I'de made with the intention of them being a part of one of my bag's...

Kocam benim bir torba dolusu iple yazlığa geldiğimi anlayınca hayretler içinde kaldı...

My husband was astonished when he understood that I'de come here with a bag full of yarn... 

İşte, bu manzara karşısında tığ işlerimi, iplerimi serdim ortaya....

Anneciğimin eline tutuşturdum, hadi sende yap diye...

I handed them to my mum telling her to do some also...
