There was a fish restaurant near to our house. We loved this place and used to go there a lot. It was a location where everyplace was painted in white, the window frames, tables and chairs where blue, you would feel you where in the Aegean region or Greece despite the fact that you are in the middle of Ankara. This restaurant had white trees with various objects hanging on them in Teracotta pots scatterred around the tables as a decoration. They looked good and I was jealous. One day I went to a garden center near our house, found a dry tree thrown away, tied it to the back of my car and brought it back home under the astonished look of people who had seen the transportation of a a dry tree on the back of a car by sweeping the streets. I arrived home and carried it to the garden. With great enthusiasm I started painting it white. After the first coat I left it to dry inside the big teracotta pot that was situated just opposite my main door. I couldn't continiue my work as it rained for the next couple of days.
O yaz hepimizin ağaçla ilgili fantezileri oldu...
A few days later the door rang and it was the cargo man. I was chatting with him and then my eyes got stuck on the tree. I couldn't believe my eyes as a bud was bursting out of a branch. Because the tree continued to sprout, we planted it in the garden and started watering it stating that it would be our miracle tree. As it was the miracle tree I was making little kids who came to our house make a wish by hanging a glass bead on the tree. Of course it wasn't only children, grown ups also joined this wishing tree project.
That summer we all had fantasies about that tree.. On day I heard my husband whispering something at the tree. When I asked him what he was doing he confessed that he was giving affirmations to the tree to convince it that it was a quince tree. "You are a quince treeeee"...
The tree succeeded to live almost all of the summer of 2010 but unfortunately after making all wishes come true (thats my fantasy) dried out by the end of summer without being able to transform itself to a quince tree.
And this is the story that I promised to write about in my yesterday post.
