Dikiş kurs çantası

Bu kadar uzun bir yokluktan sonra nereden başlayayım bilemedim ki... Nereden başlayacağımı bilemediğim gibi nasıl bitireceğim de bir muamma...
Bu sene mozaik kursuna devam ediyorum ama bir arkadaşımın ısrarıyla dikiş kursuna da yazıldım. Dikiş ile ilgilenmeme rağmen giyecek bir şeyler dikmek bana çok ta anlamlı gelmiyordu nedense... Hala da çok hevesli olduğum söylenemez ama öyle bir ortam çıktı ki karşımıza kursta ki herkes çok  tatlı, dolayısıyla gittiğim bu kurs benim için pek keyifli oldu... Bir şeyler dikmedim değil tabii ki... İki pantolon - bir etek.... ama hiçbiri kullanımda değil çünkü her birine en fazla 10'ar dakika ayırıp bitirmem gerekiyor ama ben ısrarla bunu yapmıyorum... Fakat kursa başlamadan önce arkadaşıma da kendime de birer dikiş çantası diktim ki, bu kursla ilintili bitirdiğim tek şey bu çantalar oldu.

After being non existant for such a long time I couldn't figure out were to start from...  Besides not knowing were to start from, were I should end is also a mystery...
This year besides attending the mosaics class I also started a sewing class because of an insisting friend... Don't know why but although I'm interested in sewing, sewing clothes didn't attract me at all...  I still cannot say I'm keen on it but the people in the class are so sweet  that I enjoy being there.... It's not that I haven't sewn anything... Two trousers and a skirt... But none of them is usable as I insist on not spending the last 10 minutes each to finish them off... But before we started this class I made a sewing bag for my friend and myself and these are all that I've finished related to this course...

Üçgen çanta - Triangle bag

Geçen Cumartesi İstanbul'a gitmiştim, hatırlarsınız... Niyetim Çarşamba akşamı dönmekti çünkü Perşembe günü mozaik kursum vardı. Pazar gecesi Ankara'da aniden ortaya çıkan bir iş sebebiyle aceleyle dönmek zorunda kaldım. Genelde tersi olur, hep son anda gelen bir haberle İstanbul'a gitmek zorunda kalırım ama bu kez ben İstanbul dayım ya, Ankara'ya gelmek zorunda kaldım. Ankara'ya döndüm ama kaçırmak istemediğim mozaik kursuma da gidemedim bu iş dolayısıyla. Anlayacağınız geçen hafta, planlanan hafta ile gerçekleşen uyumlu olamadı.

Bu çantayı yaz başlarında dikmiştim, "hep dikdörtgen olacak değil ya, üçgen çanta olamaz mı yani" merakımı yenmek adına. Oldu olmasına da kullanmadığım için ne kadar kullanışlı oldu bilemiyorum.

Last Saturday I went to İstanbul... My intention was to return back on Wednesday as I had a mosaics course on Thursday. But I urgently  had to return back to Ankara because of a work that came up all of a sudden. Normally it's the other way round, I usually have to go to İstanbul with a last minute call but this time as I was in İstanbul I had to come to Ankara. Although I returned back to Ankara I couldn't go to my mosaics course that I didn't want to miss at all. As you can understand my planned week wasn't congruent with my actual week.

I'de sewn this bag in the beginning of summer for the sake of getting over my curiosity about " do all bags have to be rectangle, can't a bag be triangle in shape?". Well it can be.. but as I havn't used it I don't know if it is practical to use.

Ayrılık hüznü- Separation blues

Dün oğlumu İstanbul da ki yaşamına yolcu ettim sabahın erken saatlerinde... Ayrılık hüznü mü, uykusuzluk mu (gece de çok uyumamıştım) bütün günüm bir umutsuzluk, mutsuzluk, endişe içinde geçti. Kendimi oyalamak için çabaladıysam da keyif almayı başaramadım bir türlü... Ne zor bir şeymiş insanın çocuğundan ayrılması. Oysaki, Türk insanına aykırı gelse de, tüm hayatım boyunca "çocuklar üniversiteyi ailelerinden farklı bir yerde okumalı, bu onların gelişimi açısından çok önemli bir adım" demiştim. Oğlum da 18 yıl bunu dinledi benden... Ama o zaman gelince istedim ki gitmesin, kalsın... O kadar güçlü bir şekilde yıllardır savunduğum argümanın arkasında duramadım... Kalması için rüşvet bile teklif ettim yarım yamalak ta olsa geçen sene... Neyse ki o benden akıllı çıktı ve yıllar itibariyle zihnine kazıdığım doğrunun kendisi için en doğru olacağına karar verdi  (ki tamamen katılıyorum), sonuçta bana da bunu (kendi doğrumu) kabullenmek düştü... Ama insan her şeye alışıyor, geçen sene gittiğinde günlerce depresif bir ruh haline bürünmüştüm. Bu yıl, bir günde atlattım ilk ayrılık anı depresyonumu...

Dün ise kendimi oylamak için internetten alışveriş yaptım, dikiş diktim, güzel fotoğraf çekme denemeleri yaptım, bulduğum her makaleyi okudum ( Ayşe Arman'ın Sivas katliamında 2 evladı ölen Hüsne Kaya ile yaptığı röportajı da okudum.. çok acı... içimin acısı tavan yaptı), geceyi çokta anlamlı olmayan bir filmi seyredip salya sümük ağlayarak noktaladım. Bugün... iyiyim...

İşte güzel fotoğraf çekme denememden bir örnek... Bu çantayı tatil öncesi yapmıştım ama resimlerini beğenmediğim için paylaşmamıştım....

Yesterday, early in the morning I saw my son of to his life in İstanbul... My whole day passed in despair, misery, worry either because of separation blues or sleeplessness (I couldn't sleep the night). Although I tried to amuse my self I couldn't enjoy anything.... I Realized that it is very hard to seperate from your child. Whereas although it isn't the Turkish way at all I'de always said that "children should go to university in different places then their families as this is a very important step in their development". My son listened this from me for 18 years. But when the time came, I wanted him to stay... I couldn't stand up for my argument that I'de been defending for years... Last year I even kind of bribed him to stay... Well in the end he turned out to be clever then I am and decided that his departure would be the best for him (I totally agree) and I had no chance other then accepting this... But we get used to everything, last year when he went, I was in a depressive state for days, this year I got over my separation blues in a day...

Yesterday in order to amuse myself I did some internet shopping, did some sewing, tried to take some good photography , read many articles (I read Ayşe Arman's interview  with Hüsne Kaya who's two child was killed in the Sivas slaughter... very sad... my pain inside was of the roof), I ended the night by weeping at a not so significant movie. Today... I'm fine...

Çift taraflı çanta - Reversable bag

Dün gece korku filmi gibi kabus gördüm. Sabah 5 sularıydı dehşet içinde uyanarak kalbimin yatışmasını bekledim. Tam da o sırada komşumun köpeği deli gibi havlıyordu bahçede. Normalde hiç takılmam havlamasına ama kabus üstü köpek havlaması tedirginliğimi arttırdı.(Belki de köpeğin havlaması beni uyandırdı ve kabus filmimde daha ileri gitmeme engel oldu)  Güne kocaman bir baş ağrısı ile başladım dolayısıyla, hatta hala geçmedi. Normalde bugün büyük bir boya işi vardı aklımda yapmak istediğim ama kendimde o enerjiyi bulamadım haliyle...

 Bu çift taraflı çantayı Almanya'da ki arkadaşım için yapmıştım. Çift taraflı çantaları seviyorum, çantadan sıkıldığın anda sadece çevirerek öteki tarafını kullanabiliyorsun. Arkadaşım bol yağmurlu bir yerde yaşadığı için bir tarafını pamuklu kumaştan (güneşli günler için) diğer tarafını da teflon kumaştan (yağmurlu günler için) yaptım.

Last night I saw a nightmare like a horror movie. It was 5 in morning I woke up in terror to wait for my heart beat to calm down. Just at that moment my neighbours dog was barking like crazy in the garden. Normally his barking doesn't bother me but the barking on top of the nightmare raised my anxiety. (Maybe the barking woke me up and saved me from going further on my nightmare movie)  Hence I started the day with a huge headache that still hasn't gone. Normally today I had a big painting project in mind but naturally I couldn't find the energy to start... 

This is a reversable bag that I'de made for my friend in Germany. I love reversable bags, when you bored with your bag you just flip it over to use the other side. As my friend is living in a place with lots of rain I made one side out of cotton fabric (for sunny days) and the other side from teflon fabric (for the rainy days) .

Artan kumaşlardan çanta - Bag from fabric left overs

Dün gece blogumda değişiklik yapmak istedim, hemde aniden... uykum geldi artık yatayım dedim ama bu değişiklik isteği takıldı aklıma... Hemen yapıvereyim, ne yapmak istediğim belli, 10dakika'da bitiririm dedim ama... Bugün öğlen itibariyle bitti, aslında bitmedi de ben bitirdim... Tabii ne foto edit programları nede blogger ayarları ile olarak insanın çok bilgisi olmazsa böyle olur. Resmimi picassa, foto flexer ve photoshop ta organize etmeye çalıştım çok ta uğraştım ama onları blogger'a yerleştirmek deli etti beni. Arka planı ayarlıyorum, başlık resmi küçülüyor... başlık resmini ayarlıyorum genişlikler değişyor, yeni genişliğe göre resim ebadını ayarlıyorum seçtiğim fontlar değişiyor... En sonunda razı geldim, daha fazla uğraşamayacağım. Fontlarım istediğim gibi değil, haaa birde demin fark ettim facebook ikonu donmuş kalmış. Ama şu an öyle bir ruh halindeyim ki en sevdiğim font bu font, en sevdiğim facebook ikonu da donup kalandır...

Last night I had a strong desire to make changes in my blog, all of a sudden... I was sleepy and just as I decided to go bed the idea of this modification got stuck in my mind... I told my self, I can do it quickly, I know what I want to do so it will take only 10 minutes for me to finish... I finished it today at noon, actually it isn't complete yet but I finished it... Of course when one doesn't have much knowledge of photo edit programs and blogger setup it will turn out like this. I struggled to organize my picture in picassa, foto flexer and photoshop but trying to set them up in blogger drived me crazy. Just as I managed to set the background my picture got smaller... I organize the picture size the dimension setup changes, I organize the picture size according to the dimensions the fonts change... In the end I consented, I don't want to struggle any further. My fonts are not what I wanted them to be and I just realized I have a frozen  facebook icon. But now I'm in such a mood that my favourite font is this one, my favourite facebook icon is the one that has frozen...

Bugün öncelerde yaptığım bir çantamı paylaşmak istiyorum. Bu çanta ile evde kalan küçük parça kumaşlarımı değerlendirdim. Artıkları değerlendirerek yaptığım için de çok hoşuma gitti. O kadar çok küçük miktar kumaş artığım var ki umarım gelecek günlerde onlara da bir kimlik kazandırım.

Today I want to share a bag that I'de sewn previously. With this bag I utilized my fabric left overs. Because I utilized my left overs I was very pleased. I have so many little pieces of left over fabric so I hope that I will be able to give them all an identity in the following days.

Hobi çantası - Hobby bag

Hatırlarsanız kendime mine kursuna giderken malzemelerimi taşımak için bir atölye çantası yapmıştım (atölye çantası). Bu çantayı ilk yaptığımda mine kursuna beraber gittiğim arkadaşıma ona da bir tane yapacağımı söylemiştim. Zaman öylesine hızlı akmış ki Cuma akşamı kursumuzun bir ay içinde sona ereceğini fark ettim. Bu farkındalıkla hemen atölyeme inerek yeni aldığım bir teflon kumaştan ona bir çanta diktim ve Cumartesi günü kursta verdim. Bu yeni kumaşı çok sevdim o yüzden bir tane de kendime istiyorum...

Benimkinden farklı olarak bu yeni çantanın tüm cepleri (toplam 3 tane, 1 büyük önde, 2 küçük arkada) dışarıda çünkü benim çantanın içindeki cepler pek kullanışlı olmadı.

If you can remember I'de made myself a workshop bag to be able to carry my materials while going to my enameling course (workshop bag). At that point I'de told my friend with whom I go to this course with, that I would make her one also. But time passed so quickly and on Friday I realized that our course will end in about a months time. So I rushed down to my workshop and sewed her a bag from a teflon fabric that I'de bought recently and handed her the bag at the course on Saturday. I really did love this new fabric so I want one for myself also... 

This bags difference is that all of it's pockets (3 in total, 1 big in the front and 2 small pockets at the back) are on the exterior as I found out that the interior pockets of my bag were quite useless.

Amerika gezisi - Trip to USA

Çok uzun zaman oldu yazmayalı.Bu süre zarfında koçluk eğitimimi tamamlayarak "profesyonel Erickson koçu" oldum veee hayatımda çok heyecan duyduğum bir gelişme oldu. "Şu ömrümde Amerikayı da göremedim, şu saatten sonra da göremem herhalde, hiç yakışmadı bu benim gibi gezmeci birine " diye içimden geçirdiğim bir düşüncenin ardında Amerika'ya gitme istediğim realize oldu. Bilmiyorum hiç duydunuz mu ama benim çok beğendiğim ve yıllardır takip ettiğim bir yaşam koçu var ve bu adam Amerika'da çok sayıda kişinin (3000 kişi civarı) katıldığı seminerler veriyor, hatta Türkçe'yede çevrilmiş 2 kitabı var. "İçinizdeki devi uyandırın" ve "Sınırsız güç" - Tony Robbins. İşte ben onun seminerine katılmaya Los Angeles'a  gidiyorum haftaya ve çok heyecanlıyım.
Gelelim yaptıklarıma. Tabii şu anki konum bu seyahat olunca, seyahatime yönelik bir şeyler ürettim. Öncelikle bir sırt çantası yaptım kendime, çünkü seminerden sonra biraz gezeceğiz oralarda, hemde uçakta kitabım, montum, bilgisayarım vs. onları taşır. Biraz büyük bir çanta yapmayı hedeflemiştim ama düşündüğümden de büyük oldu...

It has been a long time since I've written. During this time I completed my life coach training and now I'm an "Professional Erickson coach" andddd something very exciting has happened in my life. Just after my thought, "I haven't been able to see the USA in this lifetime and probably I won't have a chance any more, it didn't suite me as someone who is very travel friendly" my wish to go to USA was realized. I don't know if you've heard of him but there is a life coach that I like and I've followed for years now, this guy gives seminars that a lot of people attend (arround 3000) . He has 2 books that have been translated to Turkish "Awaken the giant within" and "Unlimited power" - Tony Robbins. Actually I'm going to his seminar in Los Angeles and I'm very excited. 
Comming to what I've done. Of course as my subject these days is my travel I produced things that would suite my subject. First of all I made a ruck sack for myself as we will travel around USA after the seminar and on tops it will hold my book, coat, computer on the plane. I'de aimed to make a biggish bag but it turned out bigger then my intention...

Ve tabii bununla uyumlu bir pasaport çantası da yaptım. 4 tane fermuarlı göz, çanta sapının altında 2 tane gizli göz ve 2 tane de açık gözü var. Pasaport, para, telefon, anahtar vs. hepsini güvenli bir şekilde taşımak mümkün .Ama dikerken yine heyecana kapıldığım için parçaları bir araya getirirken puanları denk getirmeyi atlamışım. Sırt çantasıyla kumaş desenleri aynı olmasına rağmen kumaşlar farklı olduğu için siyahları birbirini tutmadı pek.

And of course I made a passport bag that suites this. It has 4 zippered pockets, 2 hidden pockets under the straps and 2 open pockets on each side. So you can carry your passport, money, phone, keys etc. safely. But again while sewing it I got drifted in excitement and I forgot to mach the dots while assembling the pieces together.  Although fabric designs are similar with the ruck sack because I used different types of fabric the blacks didn't match each other. 

Baykuş çocuk çantası- Owl kids backpack

Annem'le babam önümüzdeki günlerde İngiltere'ye kardeşimin yanına gidiyorlar. Kardeşimin iki tane çocuğu var, onlara bir şey yollamak istiyorum ama ne?, diye düşünürken böylesi geldi aklıma. Buradan ne alsam göndersem standart, orada ulaşabilecekleri bir şey olacaktı. Bu çantaların içine de ıvır-zıvır doldururum, en azından bir süre heyecan olur onlara diye düşündüm. Tabii bu çantaları kullanabilirler mi (yaş, cinsiyet, moda, vs. bazında) çok kestiremiyorum doğrusu... Kullanamazlarsa da içine pamuk koyar yastığa dönüştürürler diye düşünüyorum...

My mum and dad will be having a visit to my brother in the UK. My brother has two kids, just as I was thinking that I want to send them something, but what? this idea popped up in my mind. I thought that whatever I buy and send to them from here, will be something standart, something they can achieve at all times. I am going to fill these bags with little bits and pieces, at least they will be excited and happy about it for a while. Of course I can't predict if they will use these bags (age, sex, fashion, etc. wise) but if they don't, they can fill them up and use them as cushions in their rooms...

Ev işlemeli çanta - House appliqued bag...

Günlerdir Etsy'de dükkan açmaya çalışıyorum. Dün gece bir sürü bilgiyi Etsy'ye girmişken internetimiz kesildi, bilgiler kaybolmasın diye internetin geri gelmesini bekledim... neredeyse sabah olmak üzereydi geldiğinde... Tabii o saatten sonra yatınca da uykum kaçtı, döndüm durdum yatakta. Sabah ise bu kadar uykusuzluğa rağmen gayet uygun bir saatte uyanmayı başardım, Etsy ayarlarımı yapmaya devam etme heyecanı içinde. Günün diğer kısmı ise güzel fotoğraf çekme denemeleri içinde geçti... Ne zormuş iyi fotoğraf çekmek. Defalarca aynı ürünümün fotoğrafını çektim ama sonuçtan pek te memnun kalamadım, sadece razı geldim. Problem bende mi, makinamda mı, onu bile bilmiyorum...
Bu da yeni bir çanta çalışmam... Fermuarla kapanıyor, önünde büyük bir cep var ki bu da mıknatıs ile kapalı duruyor ve fermuarlı küçük bir çanta ek,i ki bunu çantaya da bağlayabilirsiniz yada ayrı bir ürün olarak kullanılabilir. Bu küçük çantayı telefon, anahtar vs. gibi önemli ve her an elinizin altında durmasını istediğiniz şeylere ipi çekerek kolay ulaşılır olmasını planlayarak yaptım. Hemde çantaya bağlı duracağı için kaybetme riskini de ortadan kaldırıyor...

I've been trying to open my shop in Etsy for days. Last night just as I had entered a lot of my information our internet connection broke so I had to wait for it to come back again as I didn't want to lose my already loaded data... It was almost morning when it came back... Of course after going to bed that late I couldn't sleep and I tossed and turned in bed. Although I was lacking sleep in the morning I was able to wake up in an appropriate time because of my motivation to continiue on my Etsy settings. The rest of my day I tried to take nice photos... It's difficult... I took many shots of the same item but wasn't pleased with the outcome but in the end I settled for what I had. I don't even know if the problem is me or the photography machine...
This below is my new bag... It has a zippered closure, a big front pocket with a magnetic closure and a zippered little bag insert that you can either tie to the main bag or use as a seperate item... I made this little bag so that you can have easy access to your important stuff ( ie: keys, phone, etc. ) by pulling the cord. And as it is connected to the bag itself it takes away the risk of loosing it.

 Basit ve sade bir çanta yapmak üzere işe koyulduysam da yine dayanamadım....

I started work with the aim of making a simple and plain bag again but I couldn't resist...

Atölye çantası - Workshop bag

Mine kursuna giderken malzemelerimi derli toplu götürebilmek için bir çanta diktim. Çantanın içine de terlik kutusu diye satılan plastik kutulardan aldım 2 tane. Bir tanesinde mine tozlarım, diğerinde aletlerim duruyor. Bu sayede kursa giderken toparlamamı gerektiren küçük küçük parçalarımın varlığından kurtuldum, hem de kurstayken malzemelerim derli toplu durabiliyor...

I sew a bag for myself to take to my enamaling course. I bought 2 plastic boxes that are sold as slipper boxes. I have my enamals in one of them and my tools in the other. Thanks for this I got rid of small bits and pieces that I need to gather before going to my course and plus this my material can stay  neat and tidy during the course...

Farbalalı çanta - Ruffled bag

Uzun süredir buraya yazma fırsatım olmadı. Mevsimlerden yaz olunca hayat bir şekilde yoğun geçiyor. Ankara'nın şahane ve serin yaz akşamları bana "bunu kaçırmamalıyım, eve girmemeliyim" duygusu veriyor. O sebeptendir akşamları yemeğe misafirlerim geliyor, misafirim olmasa sitedeki arkadaşlarla birimizin bahçesinde toplanılıp oyun oynanıyor yada eşimle beraber dışarıda sohbet eşliğinde yemek yiyor ve 18 sene sonra tekrar baş başa kalacak olmamıza dair alıştırma yapıyoruz. Oğlumuzun üniversite hayatına İstanbul da devam etme kararı ile hepimizin hayatını bir değişim bekliyor. Gündüzleri ise kışın olduğu kadar olmasa da fırsat buldukça bir şeyler yapmaya çalışıyorum.

I haven't had the chance to post for some time. When the season is summer, life turns out to be a bit hectic.. The cool evenngs of Ankara makes me think "I shouldn't miss this, I shouldn't stay inside". For that reason we have friends that come over for dinner, if we don't have friends over for dinner we meet outside at one of our friends garden and play games with neighbours or we chat and eat outside in our garden with my husband and try to get used to being alone after 18 years. The decision our son has made concerning that he we go to a university in İstanbul will be a big transition for all of us. During the day time I try to do some stuff whenever I have a chance. 

Bu aşağıdaki çantayı bitireli oldu bir kaç gün ama bir türlü fırsat bulup ta resmini çekememiştim, sonunda bugün başardım. Bir akşam internette gezerken rastladım bu çantaya ve çok hoşuma gitti. Benim rastladığım sitede yapımına ilişkin bir eğitsel var ama ben kendi yöntemlerimle yaptım, gerçi farbalalarını yerleştirmekle çok uğraştım, bakmış olsaydım eminim çok vakit kazanırdım. Sevdim aslında ortaya çıkan çantayı, her ne kadar nedense bana duş perdesi hissi vermiş olsa da... (Oğlum ise çocuk eteğine benzetti)

It's been a couple of days since I've finished this bag but I didn't have the chance to photograph it, in the end I managed to do so. One night while I was surfing the net I came across this bag and liked it a lot. There is a tutorial in the blog that I came across but I didn't use it and did it my way. But I struggled a lot in positioning the ruffles, if I had looked at the tutorial, that would have saved me a great amount of time. Actually I liked the bag although it does give me a shover curtain feeling... (My son said that it looked like a skirt)

I made loops inside the bag suitable for hanging keychains, wallets, etc...

Halkalar boş kalmasın diye fermuarlı küçük bir çanta yaptım...

I made a zippered small case so that the loops are occuppied...
